Vijendra Rao
I am a journalist with long years of experience. I have also been associated with the corporate sector in strategic positions, where I contributed significantly. Though I have my share of grouses against the media, especially for what it is today, I realise that my passion and instincts as a journalist haven’t faded a bit over time. I have the zing to go after a public issue with the same zeal as I did as a cub reporter. That is what we must all have, if we have to rid the ills around us.
A journalist’s interests are many. Many journalists end up as allrounders, mostly by accident rather than by design. I guess I am one, too. With the experience I have gained, I have associated myself with quite a few areas outside my domain. I am available for consultation on strategic planning across sectors, of course, very selectively, for want of time. I have an abiding interest in Sanatana Dharma, Health, Integrated Medicine, New Technology, Hygiene, Social Service, Town Planning, Agriculture, Ayurveda, Landscaping, Wildlife, Sustainability, Tourism, Adventure, Language & Literature (Sanskrit, Kannada, English), Communication, Advertising, Branding, Leadership Training, Critical Thinking, Music (all genre), Art, Design, Fashion, Sports, Cookery, Nutrition, Philosophy, Social Psychology, Cinema (only direction and new story ideas.) Simply put, I am an ideator with immense social responsibility. I have something to show as my contribution in many of these areas. When you associate yourself as an individual/institution, you are contributing to a vision. Social engineering is my vision. Where I cannot participate directly for (mostly) time constraints, I have accomplished and dependable friends to stand in for me.
